Chantelle Haughton is a Senior Lecturer in Primary Education Studies and Early Years at Cardiff Metropolitan University and a Senior HEA Fellow (SFHEA). She is a Forest School Leader and trainer responsible for developing and coordinating an Outdoor Learning Centre, which uses an ancient strip of woodland and concrete patches on the university campus.
Chantelle was awarded Student Led Teaching Fellowship Award (2013), Vice Chancellors Staff Award for Excellence (2011), and HEA CATE finalist (2017) awards were related to the live, playful, innovative community engagement projects that involve students, local children and practitioners as partners. Chantelle is the Chair for BHC365, Vice Chair for BAME Ed Network Wales and Vice Chair for the Early Years Network Wales. As a child Chantelle attended Mountstuart Primary, Cardiff. Inspired and enabled by the unique richness of Mrs Betty Campbell’s pioneering curriculum and life-long mentoring and friendship for her alumni which continues to steer Chantelle’s aspirational work towards multi-cultural education and inclusion from Early Years to University in Wales.
