Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre
After a five year absence from the UK, the irresistible dancers of Alvin Ailey are back with an all-star line-up of new works by some of today’s most acclaimed choreographers, along with Ailey classics.
Under the leadership of Artistic Director Robert Battle, Ailey continues to wow audiences and critics around the world. Following their hugely successful visit to the Centre in 2010, this autumn’s repertoire includes the celebrated Ronald K. Brown’s Four Corners, hip-hop choreographer Rennie Harris’ uplifting Exodus, Christopher Wheeldon’s haunting After the Rain Pas de Deux and of course, the return of Alvin Ailey’s beloved crowd-pleaser, Revelations.

Four angels stand at the corners of the earth, holding the four winds. In his fifth commission for the Ailey company, Ronald K. Brown draws from West African and modern dance influences to portray figures burdened by grief who ultimately find peace, solace, and freedom.
