Swansea BHC365 Programme | Youth Music Development
Black History Cymru 365 (bHC365) programme starts saturday for all current musicians that want support and mentoring to develop their music careers with free access to expertise in producing – recording – promotion and performing and much more – one Saturday session per month
Simon Parton, BBC Horizons, Swansea Music Hub and Swansea Fringe have teamed up with
Race Council Cymru to deliver an 8 month music development project for Black History Cymru 365 young people in
Starting in February 2020, the project will consist of 8 monthly sessions that will focus on
developing key aspects of aspiring musicians’ skillset, including: composition, songwriting,
collaboration, marketing, promotion, performance, production, recording and more…….
Culminating in a performance at the end of the project in Black History Month Wales 2020
and as part of The Swansea Fringe Festival.
The project outcomes include: development of music making skills, increased skills in music
technology and production, increased confidence as a musician, social media & marketing,
presentation skills etc…
Is this project for me?
The project has been designed for musicians that are already making music and taking the
first steps into getting discovered and getting their music heard.
We’re looking for musicians who are aged between 16-25 and South Wales based and we
are particularly looking for musicians from ethnic minority backgrounds.
The young musicians we’re looking to work with must be committed and reliable and
available to take part in monthly sessions taking place on Saturdays in Swansea City Centre
between 12:00 & 17:00.
All sessions, training, recording and opportunities offered will be free to participants
